Reasonably spacious apartment with a living room/kitchen combine. I love the old town view at the living room/kichen
narrow flight of steps. So need to be mindful that no bulky luaggage if interested stayers would like the top floor with good view.
I liked being right on the royal mile and the apartment was reasonably generous on proportions.
It was advertised as 5 star but I did not agree e.g. big old boxey television, Ikea dining chairs, general style of furniture. The apartment seemed very dark due to wallpaper being dark. Very difficult to access with a pram (which I accept is to be expected in this age of building).
Very good location, nearby shopping and attraction.
-scruffy , paint peeling everywhere, chips out of wall, no reception in building 5 min walk away, dangerous stone stair case only railed to a point.
I love royal mile residence when my first step to my lovely one bed room. Will definitely go back in the future..I Think..xxx thankssss
Great location, and use of spa facilities at Scotsman hotel .
Check in at Backpackers hostel- can take a time esp if large party in front ,so be prepared to queue. Also if have appartment looking over Royal Mile can be very noisy at weekends -till 0330 in morning and then street cleaners start at 0600.
The apartment was excellent. It was very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities and in a great location within walking distance to lots of great attractions including the castle. It was booked as a surprise weekend for my mums birthday and she was over the moon with everything.
Great position, spacious, comfortable. Quiet even though in the heart of it. Staff were very cheerful and helpful.
Should have been made clear we needed to call at 65 Cockburn for the key. Thought I had booked an en suite facility. The second bedroom was very dark and could do with a long mirror some where in the apartment.
quality of the appartment and the location on the royal mile
Location was excellent
Noisy, lack of service, shabby decorative state
The apartment was at the top of the building with 100 steps and no lift
The decor was lovely, and it was very central, clean and just what we needed.
One of the bedrooms were noisy but that is what you get with such a central location. It was good that one was quiet incase you didn't like the noise from the street outside. Steep stairs going up to the apartment, better if it had a lift but we were warned about this on the website.
the location is good,very convenient
tidiness, the bathroom smelt bad and the kitchen bowls were not clean. The bathtub contained bubbles and had leftover shampoo on the side when we first found it. Also there were no instructions on how to work the washing machine, therefore we did not know how to work it. Also the reception should have offered porters to help us carry our luggage as it is very hard without the help of a lift with many luggage and quite a few small children. The internet connection was slow. The alarm kept going off and we were not smoking etc. This was an inconvenience as it disturbed our sleep.
Location was perfect, great views over the rooftops to the town and beyond and step out to the middle of the Royal Mile.
We were on the top floor and the spiral stairs were a hard slog going up, worthwhile when you get there but ask for a lower room if your not the fittest.
Very clean all over quality fitings and kitchen really good and bathroom excellent all with fresh newly fitted appliances. Carpets fresh, very clean and not smelly.
Walls were a bit dark with the scottish theme of heather, purple and mulberry on floors tho by end of holiday we got used to dark colours, think its a personal thing.
